Javascript test:
Using http://www.blastam.com/analytics-consulting.aspx as your source page, write javascript that would accomplish the following:
- Hide the Print | Email | Share div in the right column of the page.
- Change the Blast AM logo at the top right to:
- Link to http://www.google.com instead of /.
- Have it open in a new window when clicked.
- Fire an alert dialog that says the following when clicked: Please Hire Me!
- Change the Google Analytics H3 element to all uppercase.
- Bonus points: The current order of products in the center (from left-to-right and top-to-bottom) is GA - Urchin - SiteCatalyst - WebTrends. Change the order to SiteCatalyst - WebTrends - GA - Urchin (essentially swap the top and bottom rows).
Rules:
- Yes, you can use jQuery.
- Your solution must be entirely done via javascript. This means that you cannot alter the existing html code. We are taking your snippet of javascript code that you write and applying it to the live page via firebug's console.
- We will test by executing your script in Firebug on the URL above, so we recommend you test your script the same way. It is probably easiest to write your javascript in Firebug's console as well versus attempting to setup a local or hosted copy of our page.
- You are not disqualified from being considered if you are unable to deliver a complete solution; your technique in how you approach the problem is most important.
If you are interested in applying, please respond with "Web Analytics Configuration Specialist" as the subject line of your email, and attach your resume and cover letter as PDF documents. Also include a .txt file containing your javascript test and name that document "javascript-test.txt". Applicants who do not submit their resume in this fashion will not be considered, as the ability to closely follow directions is integral to this role.
