Does your website look good in HD?

Last week while driving home the local radio host told a story about getting her new HD antennae for her television. It went something like this, “I was watching David Letterman and I could see every spot and blemish on his hands and face. I couldn’t take it. I switched back to the old way.”

That got me thinking about website design. How often does a site look good at first glance, but when we switch to HD (i.e. actually use the site) does it not look so good anymore? Unfortunately, it happens all the time. How does the saying go? “The devil is in the details”

Here at Blast Advanced Media we performed a site analysis and review recently for the recently launched website for Carpet One, www.carpetone.com. Let’s just say, it didn’t hold up in HD. As you’ll read the seemingly small details become huge roadblocks on the road to conversion.

How do you make sure your site looks even better in HD? Here at Blast Advanced Media we call it User Centered Design. In today’s web world it is not enough to just have a site that looks good. It must perform well for the end user and be easy to use, because who likes to do things that are difficult, especially when you’re just “trying” to find/buy something online.

We hope you enjoy our brief review of www.carpetone.com and more importantly that it sparks you to look at your site in HD. Hopefully you’ll like what you see.
